The Scopes Monkey Trial
John Thomas Scopes- A Tennessee Highschool science teacher put on trial for teaching evolution in class when it was only legal to teach fundamentalist beliefs. Admitted to breaking the law.
Clarence Darrow- A Lawyer tasked with defending John Scopes during the Scopes Monkey Trial. Well know for turning public opinion against fundamentalism.
William Jennings Bryan- Democratic Politican on the prosecuting side of the trial. Active fundamentalist. Died 5 days after the trial. Said to have died of "diabetes and fatigue."
